Joe has BA Honours and Master of Music degrees, after graduating from Newcastle University. With the drumming knowledge and abilities achieved from his studies, Joe has gone on to work with many up and coming musicians including Lizzie Esau, Eliza Lee (Venus Grrrls), The Avelons, Celia Grace, Roses in December, Lee J Toby and Alex James just to name a few. Not only gigging, he has also worked as a digital marketing assistant for a gig promoting company called Notion Live Events which organises gigs and festivals under the name Shin Gigs. He was a member of their team who promoted and worked on the first year of the A Stone's Throw festival.

Joe is now drumming for UK rising artist Hannah Robinson which involves performing original dreamy shoegaze, grunge-gaze music across the country.​​ ​​​​​

With other performance experiences in orchestras/big bands, musicals, function/tribute bands, the experiences has proved to be invaluable with impeccable versatility and ability to play a wide variety of genres. 

Currently, Joe is teaching in various Northumberland schools and privately in Saint Mary Magdalene Mitford church, sharing his valuable knowledge with the next generation of drummers.
