Freelance drummer from Northumberland. Joe has performed with UK bands at various venues in the North East including Fenwick Festival in Doncaster, Newcastle City Hall, Newcastle O2 Academy, Bar Loco Newcastle, Corbridge Music Festival, The Cluny, Head of Steam Newcastle, Think Tank Newcastle and local venues with many bands and singer songwriters. With performance experiences in orchestras, musicals, function tribute bands, performing in festivals and gigs, the knowledge gained has proved to be invaluable with impeccable versatility and ability to play a wide variety of genres.
Joe has studied a Master of Music degree, after graduating from Newcastle University with an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Music, with a high first in performance. With the drumming knowledge and abilities achieved from his studies, Joe is developing original compositions and drum solos with continuous determination and hard work to become the best drummer version of himself.
Joe's past experiences includes ‘Northumberland Rock School' directed by Geoff Hutchinson involving teenagers from across the county building their musicianship. This provided many opportunities to learn a diverse range of music styles with a variety of musicians at an early age. Culminating with an ensemble performance at ‘The City Hall’ in Newcastle Upon-Tyne at the age of 13. Most recently, Joe has worked with international German producers on a recording collaborations.
As you can see drums and music has been instrumental throughout his life.
Currently, Joe is working as a freelance session drummer and drum tutor which involves gigs, teaching and UK bands performing original music. Not only this, he is currently teaching drums in various schools around Northumberland sharing a variety of drumming techniques and knowledge. Plus Joe is drumming for three relatively new bands, Crux (Alternative Rock), Temperance Day and Priory Of Sion (Progressive Metal) performing in venues in and out of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
